Selling before foreclosure
A regular sale may preserve equity and control when the likely sale price can cover the mortgage payoff and selling costs. A scheduled foreclosure does not automatically pause because the home is listed.

Know the real deadline
- Verify the foreclosure sale date directly with the servicer and official local source.
- Request a current payoff statement and identify other liens.
- Build backward from the time needed for an offer, title work, and closing.
Protect the homeowner
- Use a qualified local professional who understands time-sensitive and distressed sales.
- Do not sign away title or control to someone promising to stop foreclosure.
- Compare net proceeds, moving costs, tax questions, and housing transition needs.
