After the sale
The sale happened. Confirm what is true now.
A foreclosure sale does not answer every question about ownership, possession, redemption, surplus funds, remaining debt, or move-out timing. Those issues vary by state and case.

Verify the sale result and any right to remain, redeem, claim surplus funds, or respond to an eviction case through official records and qualified local help.
Verify the record
- Was the sale completed, postponed, canceled, or rejected?
- Who is shown as purchaser, and has a deed been recorded?
- Does state law provide a redemption period or court confirmation step?
Protect the transition
- Keep insurance and utilities in place until local advice confirms otherwise.
- Do not pay anyone to recover supposed surplus funds without verifying the court or county process.
- Ask about tax consequences, remaining balance claims, credit reporting, and housing support.
